Since I started competing in 2011 I've met a lot of dope barbers on the competition circuit. It's been a bunch of them. Some are highly skilled in one area and some are in multiple areas. Here are my favorite 25 (Not in order....well No.1 is...lol)
Johnnie Akons - Winner in multiple categories(Mohawk,Total look,Old School,Tag Team, Graphics and more.) Winner of categories like Bronner Brothers, King of Midwest, A+ Eliete. Very competitive and loves competing. Very creative and live for difficult cuts.
Won basically every Major competition out. 50+ awards won
Marquez Tatum- Multiple Award winning Barber/Cosmetologist. Very skilled and one of the most creative Barbers in the industry. 1st person I went up against and seen his cut and I was hoping for 2nd pl.Won basically every Major competition out. 30+ awards won
Robert Presswood- Multiple award winning Barber/Stylist. Graphics/Oldschool/Duplication/Fading are his strong point. Once seen him do a Bald fade with 6 stars in 12 minutes and they were razorsharp too. Won basically every Major competition out. 30+Awards
J-Ruff - Multiple award winner. Spent time dominating the Best fade category for over 2 years straight. Specialized in Graphics, Old School Cuts and Creative color cuts. Won basically every Major competition out. 30+ awards won.
G-Whiz- The Barber that all Barbers looked up too. The only Barber to win the Bronner Brothers invitational category 2 years in a row for that real money. He has his own clipper so that says it all.
Dashon Jones- When it comes to fades , Precision & cleanliness on the score sheet you might as well just put a 10 down. Another fearless competitor who takes on all comers. 1 of few that gets down in more than 3 categories per show. 40+ Awards won.
James Pope Jr.- Multiple award winning Barber out of Georgia. Multiple Bronner Brother Andis total look winner(4 trophies 1st, 2nd,2nd,3rd) Very creative, skilled and does cuts that the average barber wouldnt even attempt.
Floyd Greer- Multiple Award winning barber. Known for his love of Characters, Graphics and the use of colors Floyd has dominated for a long time. 40X award winner.
Miguel Rosas- Multiple Award winning Barber Educator. From 2011 till his retirement Miguel was one of 2 Barbers(Jonathan Sanchez) that dominated the portrait competition. It was basically a battle of 3rd place with everyone else. Also a multiple Fastest Fade winner as well. 20+ award winner.
Jonathan Sanchez- Multiple Award winning Barber. From 2011 till his retirement Johnathan was one of 2 Barbers(Miguel Rosas) that dominated the portrait competition. It was basically a battle of 3rd place with everyone else. 15+ Award winning Barber
Tristan King- Multiple Award winning Barber. One of the very few barbers that have competed in 3 categories at a show and have won all 3. 15+ Award winning Barber educator.
Big Val- Multi award winning barber. Favorite category is Old School cuts. Love Big Vals approach to a competition. This man will go ALL OUT.Another person that's a guaranteed 10 in The total look section. Big Val is also a multiple total look, Graphic winner as well. 20+ award winner.
Barber Nas- This Barber reminds me of myself in some ways. Relentless competitor. 3 or more categories almost every show. To make a name for yourself you gotta put in the work and he does. 50 awards won in multiple categories. Fastest Fade, Graphics, Old School, Tag Team and Fearless competitor.
Lova The Barber- Arguably one of if not the top female barber in the competition game Lova is a multiple award winning Barber. Single put a stop to the female barber category cause only a few would go up against her.
Tae Lewis- 20+ Multi Award winning Barber and rising up the ladder fast!!! The reason why shes one of my favorites isnt because shes good but that look she have if she gets second pl. Shes from that 1st pl camp. You know 1st place is the only goal. Improving every show, added graphics to her game and have a stable of good models. Did I mention shes only like 20.
Anthony Muhammed- This guy had a streak of 1st place wins in a row and it would've continued if it wasn't for a tech. Like A few others when it comes to clean and precise fades he will always get a 10. Plus he's only 20 I believe.
Brenden Hernandez- Multi Award winning Barber. Brenden is the first winner of the Battle of the Champions Champion of all champions which says a lot. One of a few 5 barbers (That I know)to win a Barber Competition where ALL of the competitors are champions. Brenden always brings clean precise work everytime out.
Haven Hobbs- Bronner Brothers Andis total look winner and the only winner to post A PERFECT SCORE. That says lot!!!
Shug Sharp - Multi award winner. Just started competing not too long ago but he's won some nice hardware and has his own type of style. One of my top Graphic barbers.
Anthony Ramos- Multi award winning Barber. One of the Fastest Barbers in the game and a fearless competitor. I like when Barbers talk that talk but isn't afraid to back it up. 10+ Award winner.
Bubba Cutz- Multi award winner. Just started competing not too long ago but he's won some nice hardware and has his own type of style. One of my top Graphic barbers. His ability to do graphics so small is amazing.
Jason Hernandez- Multi award winning barber. The Gary Payton of the Barber competitions. Talks a lot of trash but backs it up. Maybe the Fastest Barber in the game. 15+ Award winner.
Jessica Putman - New to the competition game and in a short time has racked up many trophies. I remember her 1st competition when she didnt place she was crushed. From that point on she went on a tear. Her determination also puts her on my list because she wasnt afraid of nobody. 1st as a student to compete in the Battle of the Champions. 10+ Award winner
Saed (SharpSkills)- Multi Award winning Barber. Versatile barber in all areas. Graphics, fading and razor game on point. Very strong with color enhancements. When he was competing he was one of the best.
Elmo Gideon- Multi Award winning barber. Elmo has a fade game that is on point. In 3 years he's opened eyes and has earned respect. Versatile barber and has wins in categories like Old School, Graphics, Best Fade and Total look.
Wakey- Multiple Award winning barber that's creative, has his own style and can mix traditional cuts with a new school flare!
Kibwe- Cincinnati's own Kibwe Barber is what you call a barbers favorite Barber. He is creative, skilled and thinks outside the box. He's done cuts in shows that I really think or thought should've places higher. I mean a multi step cut with each step different. One nappy look. One Shaped and the other with color. He's done some memorable work.
Redd Yates- Redd havent competed a lot but when he has he shows why he made my list. An all around barber that have no weakness. One of the best graphic barbers out here.
Martinez- Multi Award winning Barber that at one point was the Barber to beat. His graphic game is crazy and with the letters he's one of the best and fast with it. Creative with his own style.
