Johnnie Akons is a License Barber, Licensed Barber Teacher. Shop owner and owner and Instructor at Legacy Cutz Corporation Barber Academy. Johnnie has been cutting hair for 36 years and had been Licensed in the State of Illinois for 13 years. Johnnie is a 101X Award winning Barber and has won championships in 9 different states. Johnnie has won The Bronner Brothers Total Look competition back to back. 2017 he won then he had to sit out 3 years and he won it again in 2020. He has won many major competitions in 20 different categories. He received his training at Chazap Barber College on the southside of Chicago under the guidance of William 'Chap' Durham. Johnnie has taught Barbering at Chazap Barber College, Tricoci University and Larry's Barber College before deciding to open his very own school. Johnnie has owned and ran three Barbershops. Legacy Cutz, Legacy Cutz 2 and Legacy Cutz suites. It was after running his very own shops that he decided that he wanted to open a school to make sure that Barbers would learn everything that they needed to be successful in this industry and be able to provide for themselves and their families.
